looks like we got another double header for the pic of the day heres the first

"Pic of the day. The Levin sword and tomes are Robin's life lines. The Levin sword can be activated by using smash attacks--you can even activate these moves in midair! However, just like in the original game, the Levin sword can be used only a limited number of times before it breaks, at which point it takes some time to regenerate. When the Levin sword is unavailable, Robin fights using the bronze sword."

"The way Robin launches Arcfire is kind of crazy—he or she calls down a bolt of flame from above, then launches a pillar of fire! By the way, Robin’s tome changes with each special attack.
"
hmmm looks like Robin is gonna be tricky to play

Interesting, so the sword breaks and the tome moves get used up? Sounds like you're really gonna have to choose when to use your moves wisely.

"Pic of the day. We have Nintendogs plus cats! How could we forget them!! Just FYI, there are about five dog breeds in this game. This was me, reporting from the 3DS-exclusive stage, Living Room."

"Pic of the day. Here's a Screen K.O. shot. There are also patterns where players will disappear into the sky for Star K.O.s, but as a match's time limit approaches, those K.O.s will not occur anymore."

My impression was that it just takes too much time. So they prevent star KOs to save time for the actual match. Could be wrong though.

edit: sorry I thought you asked why it only happens in time matches.

new pic of the day

"Pic of the day. Robin's Nosferatu is the first ability in the Smash Bros. series that recovers your damage as it gives damage to others. The attack becomes even stronger if you strike from behind! Robin doesn't actually use this ability in the original game, but we added that element to make the character unique. Who knows--the ideas we use in this game may contribute to the original series."

So we got our first attack that actually drains an opponet's health, thats pretty cool!

The closest we had before was Lucas' down special. It could do damage and it could heal. It couldn't do both though.

Corneria was cool but since it's been in the last two games, I feel like this stage has to be a little different for variety's sake. But it does seem like the only options for the orientation of this stage are Corneria- and Venom-style.

"Pic of the day. In general, there are completely different stages in the 3DS and Wii U version, but we made Wily Castle and the special boxing ring available for both versions! We didn't forget the Yellow Devil either. There may be some small differences in the stages, such as the 3DS stage appearing to be during daylight hours."

pic of the day, we got another new stage, this time for 3ds

"Pic of the day. This is the Tomodachi Life stage that's exclusive to the 3DS version! The front walls of the apartments disappear so you can see the area within when a fighter overlaps with the room. The rooms are randomly placed and selected from among several types. Planting an X Bomb behind a wall might be an effective tactic."

"You might run into a Mii living in the room! The Mii characters are taken from the data in your 3DS system, so you could find your friends living in the apartments."

Looks like this is the week of stages lol. I really hope the Starfox stage is a lot more like Sector Z was in Smash64. It was HUGE and I loved it lol. The other levels look pretty cool as well.

"Pic of the day. For the first time ever, I present to you…the main menu for the 3DS version!! The icons are even animated. The design concept may look similar if you've played other games I've worked on. But we had a hard time making this one because…"

"The bottom screen displays pictures matching each mode! This was quite a task for the UI (User Interface) designers, but they made it happen. Kudos to them! You can tap the screen to look up additional info like how to play--complete with diagrams."

What do you guys think the Wii U button does? I'm also curious about where the various modes are filed: Smash is presumably just Vs., but are classic (and maybe adventure if it exists) filed under "Games and more"?

Given the icon, I'd say "Games & More" would be various options and mini-games (like coin launcher in Brawl).
